“Lindsay was able to help address my needs by targeting her guidance according to my specific conditions rather than offering generic advice. I really appreciated that. I was also surprised by a piece of advice that not only offered benefits in one way, but would also help lower the risk of something I have in another way. That really shifted my perspective on how I should be approaching and balancing my nutrition.”

Heart-healthy nutrition without rigid rules

Cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, blood sugar, family history, medications, genetics, and other factors can all play a role in cardiovascular health. Your nutrition needs and goals are personal, too.

Rather than focusing on a single lab value or labeling foods as simply “good” or “bad,” we'll look at the bigger picture. Supporting cholesterol and heart health doesn't require completely changing the way you eat or giving up the foods you love.

Depending on your needs, we may work on increasing fiber, incorporating a variety of plant foods, balancing different types of dietary fats, building satisfying meals, or finding ways to make nutrition changes feel manageable in everyday life. Together, we'll identify realistic and sustainable ways to support your heart health while still making room for the foods, culture, routines, and experiences that matter to you.

Heart-health nutrition counseling may be helpful if you:

  • Have recently been told you have high cholesterol, high LDL, or high triglycerides

  • Feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice about what you should eat

  • Have a family history of heart disease or cardiovascular concerns

  • Want to support your heart health without following a restrictive diet

  • Want practical help with meals, grocery shopping, or meal planning

  • Have tried making nutrition changes before but found them difficult to maintain

  • Want individualized guidance rather than another generic “heart-healthy diet”

Your nutrition should fit your life

Heart health shouldn't mean losing the joy in food.

I'm Lindsay Wengler, MS, RD, CDCES, CNSC, and I've spent more than 10 years working as a Registered Dietitian, including over 7 years in clinical settings. My background in cardiometabolic health, diabetes, and complex nutrition needs has taught me that there is rarely one “right” way to eat. I'll help you understand what matters for your health while finding an approach that feels realistic for your life.

Food is more than a list of nutrients. It's culture, comfort, celebration, connection, routine, and pleasure. Your heart health goals don't have to take those things away.

My approach is weight-inclusive and individualized to you. We can work toward the health goals that matter to you, including weight-related goals, while looking at your overall health, nutrition, relationship with food, and quality of life.
